Singer/songwriter Adam Holmes, whose reputation is growing steadily, is lined up for a CCA, Glasgow gig on May 22, 2015.

Adam played a sell-out show at the 2014 Glasgow Americana Festival and his debut album, “Heirs And Graces” was nominated for Scottish Album of the Year.

The 23-year-old from Edinburgh certainly delivers a cultured mix of traditional and contemporary folk music from both sides of the Atlantic with his own brand of Americana never far away.

“…his lilting bass vocal and blend of Scottish tradition and Americana was frequently entrancing” – The Scotsman.

With his own take on folk melded seamlessly to Americana, Adam Holmes has lit up the Scottish music scene with his band, The Embers in recent years.

The 25-year-old from Edinburgh, with a new album due to be released next year, has been lined up to appear at the CCA in Glasgow on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

His 2013 debut album, Heirs and Graces, was both melodic and striking with an assured touch that belied his youthfulness as a singer/songwriter.

It won the former fiddler many glowing reviews as well as a nomination in the Scottish Album of the Year awards. His live shows – he appeared in 2015 at the Tonder Festival alongside Richard Thompson and John Prine, for example – also always prove impressive.

“Adam has great songs to share with his fine band so a night in his company is always something to relish,” said Kevin Morris of The Fallen Angels Club.

Adam Holmes and The Embers and Rachel Sermanni are planning a joint headlining Autumn Tour of the UK including a one-night only show in Edinburgh at The Pleasance Theatre on Saturday, November 25.

Adam Holmes has emerged as one of the rising stars on the Scottish music scene, with influences from either side of the Atlantic mixing traditional and contemporary folk with his own brand of Americana.

It’s a musical mix that’s winning him more and more fans and latest album, Brighter Still, has brought him even greater attention.

Rachel Sermanni is a stylish musician and artist whose reputation as a folk-noir balladeer is, like her fellow headliner’s, going only upwards.

Fans and critics alike were thrilled by Tied To The Moon, her sophomore studio release of 2015.

As a double-header featuring two of Scotland’s brightest talents, this show promises to be a memorable one.

Both Adam and Rachel are terrific live performers with a catalogue of songs that are intriguing and hugely appealing.
