The Handsome Family are set to bring their dark and delightful all-round musical merriment to St Andrews in the Square on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

The mischievous minstrels – Rennie and Brett Spark – are great favourites in Glasgow with beguiling shows that are playful, and packed with great songs and music about anything from magnets to owls or milk.

Their song, “Far From Any Road” from their 2003 “Singing Bones” album, brought them to a wider audience after its use as the theme tune to the hugely popular TV series True Detective.

Newcomers to the devilish duo now know what long-standing fans have been raving about.

The Handsome Family will unravel their bewitching, dark humour and great songs once again on a return visit to Glasgow early in 2017.

Great favourites in the city, the devilish duo of Rennie and Brett Spark appear at Saint Luke’s on Thursday, February 23.

Their distinct music is steeped in the western gothic of New Mexico life and latest release, “Unseen”, includes typically offbeat songs about Blackjack players, spirit seeking vacuum tubes and impossibly small horses.

Their fan numbers have soared since their 2003 song, “Far From Any Road” from the “Singing Bones” album, their sixth, was used as the theme tune to the hugely popular TV series True Detective. It became a global hit.

They are funny, engaging and terrific musicians so an evening in their company is guaranteed to be a sheer joy.

Everyone has a smile on their face when The Handsome Family hit town, we are really pleased they can come back to entertain us once again.

The O2 ABC1 (SEATED SHOW)

Tickets £17.50 from The O2 ABC and Tickets Scotland 0141 204 5151 Book online

Doors 7pm, 7.45pm start

That dark and dandy duo, The Handsome Family will be back for more music and fun in Glasgow in March 2018.

Rennie and Brett Spark are playing the 02ABC on Sunday, March 11 and, if the “song Gods grace” them, new songs may well be scattered through their mercurial, magic western Gothic playlist reflecting life in New Mexico.

They play joyously for their fans whom they have described as “spirits, wild dreamers and shadow singers.” The song topics may be weird and wonderful, but they capture the deadpan humour that underpins so much of their skewed output.

Their fan numbers have soared since their 2003 song, “Far From Any Road” from the “Singing Bones” album, their sixth, was used as the theme tune to the hugely popular TV series True Detective. It became a global hit.

Rennie and Brett bicker endlessly on stage – and it all adds to the enjoyment of it all.

They are great musicians with an intriguing range of songs so any show by The Handsome Family is one to savour.
