This year, they won the UK album of the year award with What Kind of Love, the UK Artist of the Year title and UK Song of the Year, Clear Water at the UK Americana awards.

They are clearly one of the best and most thrilling bands around at the moment so this is going to be a memorable gig.

Written in a year book-ended by the birth of her first child and time spent looking after her terminally-ill father, The Penny Collector is a collection of heartbreaking yet joyous songs.

Based in Austin, Texas, comparisons with Iris De Ment or Patty Griffin are commonplace, and those catching her live shows rarely leave unimpressed by the quality and sincerity of her compositions and singing.

As a featured vocalist with the Sam Baker Trio or a duo performer with her equally talented husband, Danny Schmidt (support for the tour) Carrie Elkin brings intimacy, style and smiles to her gigs.

She is compelling in every sense and on previous visits to the city she has proved an act worth seeing.

“I’m thinking Patty Griffin, Nanci Griffith and Iris De
Ment….spell-binding”  – Bob Harris, BBC Radio2

NASHVILLE-based singer/songwriter, Angel Snow is heading to Glasgow in November for a show at The Admiral.

Her layered, textured music is an acclaimed and glorious sonic mix of country, folk and pop – songs that give people hope, she says.

Her second album, Magnetic, was released earlier this year and it appeared following a period when Angel was involved in writing songs for the likes of Grammy-award winner, Alison Krauss.

Three of Angel’s songs are on Krauss’s 2011 album, Paper Airplane. and prompted Nashville’s Music Row to crown Angel “Nashville’s next stealth pop weapon.”

“… her smooth, dark chocolate voice and sense of melody meshes exquisitely with her new sonic style.” – American Songwriter.

Ida Wenøe (pron. EEda VAYnoo) is an indie-folk artist of the highest calibre, with tinges of Americana and a Nordic inflection, the sum of the musical parts creating a rare beast and a thing of great beauty.

2016 saw a whistle-stop 7-day introductory UK tour, which showcased her genuinely unique talent as a solo artist here for the first time, bolstered by radio plays from BBC6Music’s Tom Ravenscroft and Gideon Coe.
