Kris Drever Glasgow Return

We are delighted to announce that our old friend Kris Drever will return to Glasgow in the Autumn.

Kris will play Saint Luke’s Glasgow on Thursday 29th October.

Drever’s voice and guitar form a part of the backbone of today’s contemporary roots and folk scene. Hugely admired as a solo artist, collaborator, a phenomenal and prolific artist. Kris has collaborated with Cream’s Jack Bruce, Bela Fleck, Tinariwen, Joan As Police Woman, Jerry Douglas, Danny Thompson, Tim O’Brien, Sarah Jarosz, Shawn Colvin, Phil Cunningham, Rosanne Cash, Roddy Woomble, Eddi Reader, Adem, Kate Rusby, Julie Fowlis, Karine Polwart, Seckou Keita and many more. Legendary Tom Russell Glasgow Date

The legend that is Tom Russell makes a welcome return Glasgow in the summer for a show at Saint Luke’s on Wednesday 29th July.

Tom Russell songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Doug Sahm, Nanci Griffith, KD Lang, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Ian Tyson, Iris DeMent, Joe Ely, and a hundred others.

Tom’s latest release, “October in the Railroad Earth” was released last year with some great reviews.

Steve Forbert makes a welcome return to Glasgow in the summer with an acoustic show in Saint Luke’s on Tuesday 30th June.

Steve Forbert’s folk-rock career has spanned four decades and counting. In June 1976, the twenty-one year old boarded a train in Meridian, Mississippi bound for New York City, then the epicenter of folk music. His combination of musicianship and authenticity demanded notice. In less than two years, he went from being a street performer and living at the YMCA to filling historic Greenwich Village clubs and signing a major label record contract with Nemperor Records.

Steve has been a regular visitor over the last 7 years or since he played our Glasgow Americana festival.

This is sure to be a very special night when we welcome the return to Glasgow of the fantastic Gretchen Peters. We are teaming up with our friends at 432 presents to bring you one of the female voices of our generation to The Community Central Halls on Wednesday 20th May.

In 2015, The Telegraph named her one of the greatest 60 female singer-songwriters of all time. Her latest album, The Night You Wrote That Song: The Songs of Mickey Newbury, is a loving tribute to another Hall of Fame songwriter and a profound influence on Peters’ own writing. It will be released in May 2020.

Siobhan Miller Album Launch

One of Scotland’s foremost singers is coming to play for us at The CCA in April. The wonderful Siobhan Miller will be launching her new album at The CCA on Thursday 9th April 2020.

She releases her fourth album in spring 2020 – following three critically acclaimed solo releases – touring with Innes White (guitar/mandolin), Charlie Stewart (fiddle) and Euan Burton (double bass).

Alongside her extensive solo ventures, Miller’s unique vocal style has been honed through collaborations with many of Scotland’s top musicians, as well as guest appearances with the National Theatre of Scotland, a season on Broadway, and a role on US/UK TV drama Outlander.

Well a Chuck Prophet full band show has been long overdue for sure. We are delighted to welcome Chuck and The Mission Express back to Glasgow to Saint Luke’s on Thursday 28th May 2020.

Sam Baker- Celtic Connections Tonight

Roseanne Reid Headline Show In November

We have watched with some delight the progress that Roseanne Reid has made since she played her first Fallen Angels Club show in 2015 opening up for Sam Outlaw.

So when we have Roseanne playing her own headline show in The Admiral on Thursday the 14th November it will be very satisfying.

Roseanne’s debut album, “Trails” was released earlier this year, it was produced by Teddy Thompson and features the great Steve Earle

Blue Rose Code Live Album Launch

Blue Rose Code’s 2017’s stunning album The Water of Leith continues to shine with the release of a new live recording. ‘The Water of Leith- Live’ was recorded in Ross Wilson’s hometown of Edinburgh at the sold out Queens Hall show in November 2017. The album will only be available at live shows, instore and on the BRC band camp.

We are delighted to be doing the launch show in The Queen Margaret Union on Wednesday 20th November 2019.

The official release date will be November 25th but will be available exclusively to buy at the Queen Margaret University launch show.
