What do we all think about our 10th Anniversary year anniversary year so far?

Robbie Fulks

It has been seven years since the great Robbie Fulks last appeared in Glasgow, when he appeared in our very first ever Glasgow Americana Festival. The Chicago-based singer-songwriter has a large following who revel in his country-based music, a style that has many twists and turns. Conventional is not a word associated with Robbie.

Last year’s release Gone Away Backwards came in at No 10 in Rolling Stone magazine’s Top 10 country albums of 2013.

Robbie Fulks shows are always pretty special – he plays The Admiral Bar on Friday 8th August. You can purchase your tickets here.

This is an old song of Robbie’s, but it’s still is a bit of class:-

Sturgill Simpson & His Band will bring the curtain down on this year’s Glasgow Americana Festival. The festival takes place between the 1st and 5th October and also features Mary Gauthier, Jimmy LaFave, Carrie Elkin, Adam Holmes & The Embers, Matt Anderson, Ben Glover, Lynne Hanson plus a show in association with our friends from The Hazy Recollections.

Here’s Sturgill in action on the David Letterman show from last week, the kind of thing you can expect to see in Glasgow on Sunday 5th October.

Jefferson Hamer & Kristin Andreassen

The shows are still coming in thick and fast, we have just announced a new show by Guitarist and singer Jefferson Hamer, co-recipient of a 2014 BBC2 Folk Award, and songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kristin Andreassen from the band Uncle Earl. They will team up at The Admiral Bar on Saturday 20th September, you can purchase your tickets here.

The Howlin’ Brothers

We have also just announced a show by The Howlin’ Brothers, The trio bring their brand of “old-time string country blues with an indie-rock edge” to The Admiral Bar on Thursday 16th October. We really don’t think we will see these guys in a such a small venue the next time, you can purchase tickets here.

The Delines featuring Willy Vlautin from Richmond Fontaine

After making their Scottish debut in Glasgow in June as part of the Westend Festival, we are delighted to be bringing The Delines back to Scotland, this time they will play at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on Thursday the 6th November. Headed by vocalist, Amy Boone, the band’s debut album, “Colfax” came out in April, with all songs written by RF frontman and now successful author, Willy Vlautin. He loves Amy’s voice, so much so he spent a year writing songs for her to record. You can purchase your tickets here.
