THE hugely talented Carrie Rodriguez, with current bilingual album, “Lola” winning loud applause, is set for a return visit to Glasgow in November.

The singer and fiddle player will appear at The Admiral on Tuesday, November 15.

The latest offering from the Austin, Texas-based musician is an intriguing and delicate mixture of new and old songs, featuring songs written by some of Carrie’s favorite Mexican composers, as well as her own Ranchera-inspired original songs written in English, Spanish and “Spanglish.”

Top guitarist, Bill Frisell plays on the album while Raul Malo from The Mavericks is a guest performer.

Carrie, who’s opened for stars such as Lucinda Williams, has played Glasgow with veteran singer/songwriter, Chip Taylor many times, but this will be only her second solo performance in the city.

Carrie is a first-rate performer and songwriter so this is set to be a treat of a show.

The new album is a brilliant mix of styles and influences so hearing the songs live is really appealing.

“There’s a real earthiness in both Carrie’s singing and fiddle. She’s hot and steamy one minute and pure Nashville the next.” – MOJO
