He picked up glowing 5-star reviews for his last album, I Don’t Do This for Love, I Do This for Love – a CD that won him more media exposure in the space of a few weeks than he had experienced for a long time.

And, Nathan Bell ended 2016 on another high after featuring as one of the Best Male Performers of the Year in the Readers’ Poll at the influential AmericanaUK website.

He made a rare visit to these shores in February for an appearance with James McMurtry at Celtic Connections, and stunned a capacity crowd into hushed silence when he took the stage at Oran Mor.

Reviewing the performance for AmericanaUK, writer Paul Kerr said:
“It was a raucous crowd that faced Bell when he bounced onto the stage but within minutes he had them transfixed with barely a murmur to be heard, his confident delivery and wry humour demanding attention, “Gruff and tender with a poet’s voice and a sincere sense of justice Bell is the real deal…do yourself a favour and catch this true American troubadour. You won’t be disappointed.”

Nathan has a new album “Love>Fear (48 Hours In Traitorland) – a stark, acoustic soundtrack for the times we are living in – that is winning him more attention on both sides of the Atlantic

Great in recent show supporting James McMurtry at Oran Mor. One of my Celtic Connections highlights this year.
