Old Man Luedecke will make a welcome return to Glasgow when he appears at the Admiral Bar on May 9.

The award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and excellent banjo player –Chris Luedecke is his real name and he hails from Chester, Nova Scotia – is a charming and accomplished story teller with lyrics usually tagged on to folk tunes.

But on his latest release, “Tender Is The Night, produced by Tim O’Brien, he worked with a Nashville band to push ahead with songs that embraced not only folk but also bluegrass with no shortage of pop hooks.

“He channels a refreshing energy from folk giants like Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger with maybe a hint of Loudon Wainwright III.” – Rogue Folk.
